How to Update Mobile Number in Driving Licence and RC Online 2025
Updating your mobile number is straightforward and can be done online from home without visiting an RTO office. The process uses Aadhaar for secure verification. Here’s how to do it for DL and RC separately:
For Driving Licence (DL):
- Step 1: Visit the Sarathi Parivahan website at sarathi.parivahan.gov.in and select your state.
- Step 2: Click on “Update Mobile Number” or “Mobile Number Update via Aadhaar” under the services menu.
- Step 3: Enter your DL number, date of birth, and other basic details as prompted.
- Step 4: Authenticate using your Aadhaar number – an OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile.
- Step 5: Enter the new or updated mobile number and submit. You’ll get a confirmation message or reference number.
For Registration Certificate (RC):
- Step 1: Go to the Vahan Parivahan website at vahan.parivahan.gov.in/vahanservice.
- Step 2: Select “Update Mobile Number” or “Update Mobile Number through Aadhaar.”
- Step 3: Provide your vehicle registration number, chassis number (last 5 digits), and engine number (last 5 digits).
- Step 4: Verify via Aadhaar OTP sent to your registered mobile.
- Step 5: Input the updated mobile number and confirm the changes. Download the acknowledgment for records.
