Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification (as on 29 June 2026):
- Plant Operator: HSC (10+2) or ISC with Science stream (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. English must be studied at SSC (10th) level.
- Other Trades (Electronics Mechanic, Instrumentation Mechanic, Electrician, Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Welder): SSC (10th) with minimum 50% marks in Science subject(s) and Mathematics individually + 2-year ITI certificate in the relevant trade. English at SSC level is mandatory.
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 24 years as on 29 June 2026 (born on or after 29 June 2002 and on or before 29 June 2008). Age relaxations apply as per government norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen etc. (cumulative, max 56 years in some cases).
Physical Standards (relaxable if medically fit):

Selection Process
The selection involves three stages:
- Stage 1: Preliminary Test (Online CBT, 60 minutes, 50 MCQs, 150 marks) – Screening test with Mathematics, Science, and General Awareness.
- Stage 2: Advanced Test (Online CBT, 120 minutes, 50 MCQs, 150 marks) – Trade/discipline-specific.
- Stage 3: Document Verification.
Both tests are conducted on the same day. The question paper is trilingual (English, Hindi, Tamil). Merit is prepared based on the Advanced Test. Negative marking applies.
Salary and Benefits
During 2-Year Training:
- 1st Year: ₹20,000/- per month
- 2nd Year: ₹22,000/- per month
- One-time Book Allowance: ₹3,000/-
After Successful Absorption as Technician/B (Pay Level 3):
- Basic Pay: ₹21,700/-
- Approximate Monthly Emoluments (Pay + DA): ₹34,720/-
Trainees must score at least 60% during training for absorption. A training bond of ₹5,07,000/- is required for 5 years of service.
